Camri researchers quoted in Ofcom’s recommendations to Government on the Future of Public Service Media
Camri researchers’ submissions are quoted and referenced in Ofcom’s Statement (2021) Small Screen: Big Debate. Recommendations to Government on the Future of Public Service Media.
As part of its Small Screen: Big Debate initiative, Ofcom launched a consultation on the Future of Public Service Media in December 2020.
Professor Steven Barnett and Dr. Maria Michalis made separate submissions to the consultation. Ofcom’s subsequent Statement Small Screen: Big Debate. Recommendations to Government on the Future of Public Service Media quotes and references each of their submissions. Both submissions made a strong case for the need to secure the future and sustainability of public service media. Prof. Barnett and Dr. Michalis welcome Ofcom’s urgent call for legislation to make public service media fit for the next decade and to give additional monitoring and enforcement powers to Ofcom.
