Steven Barnett and Maria Michalis speak at “The Future of Public Service Media” conference

Steven Barnett and Maria Michalis participated in “The Future of Public Service Media” conference, organised by the Slovenian Academy of Sciences & Arts. Steven explained that scale, scope, reach and resources are vital to a thriving BBC that works for all, and indeed vital to all public service broadcasters. Maria talked about the external and internal governance aspects of public service broadcasting, and gave various examples that showed the instrumentalisation of the governance framework for narrow vested economic and political interests.
