Carl W. Jones Selected to Judge Global Award Shows in UK and USA

Scholar and former Advertising practitioner Carl W Jones who lectures in the School of Media and Comms , Digital Media  and Film degrees was selected to judge  three prestigious award shows celebrating the best in global advertising: Cannes Lions; PHNX and ADDY awards.

The Advertising Association UK recruited a cohort of industry professionals (including Carl) to judge the Young Lions competition for the world’s most important Creative Industry festival ‘The Cannes Lions.’  The winning young teams representing the UK will be announced w/c 18 March. The six winning teams will be taking part in the Global Young Lions Competition in Cannes in June.  Carl is judging in the categories of Film and Print.

Carl who has his PhD Viva Voce beginning of April was also selected as Judge for the French based AdForum PHNX Awards 2024. A unique event, thanks in part to its diverse jury of creatives, industry leaders, marketers, strategists, journalists and consultants. It’s the only jury of its kind in the industry, which sets them apart in the awards landscape. Jones is  judging  various categories in Digital and Analogue  Media.

Finally  the ADDY’s are the American Advertising Awards representing the best in USA advertising , and Carl was asked to judge the advertising  work from the Cincinnati chapter  in the categories of Social media, Film, Design and Print. Those winners go onto the national awards.
