Carl Jones delivers keynote speech on AI and creativity at Bulgarian Advertising Festival

On June 5th, Dr. Carl W. Jones spoke to more than 600 Creative Industry workers for BACA  (Bulgarian Association of Communications Agencies), the largest Creative Industry Association in Bulgaria. Their FARA festival celebrates the best in advertising and connects knowledge workers from Eastern Europe and around the world. The title of his  presentation was “The AI Revolution in Advertising: Balancing Creativity and Technology,” where Jones predicts that the future of A.I. will be an ethical one, not a technical one. This is due to questions on copyright ownership of data that AI scrapes off the internet in order to generate responses to human led prompts.

The three-day conference from June 46 united various speakers including Kevin Swanepoel, director of one of the world’s most respected creative Industry award festivals – The One Show, Ravid Kuperberg from Mindscapes Creativity based in Tel Aviv, and Kostas Schneider Creative Director of Publicis in the Ukraine.

The yearly conference unites  knowledge workers  in a seaside town on the coast of the Black Sea called Burgas. FARA Festival is a lead-up to one of the most important celebrations of creativity in the world: Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

Jones has won more than 500 awards for his advertising creativity, including Cannes Lions. His research focuses on Decolonising Advertising through Diversity. His latest publication, “Decolonising Advertising,” is part of the book El Racismo en los medios de communication en Mexico: Perspectives interdisciplinarians (Racism in Mexican communication: Interdisciplinary perspectives) published by Ibero University in Mexico City.
