Jon Cope is course leader of the MA in Public Relations at Westminster University, following an academic career which began 15 years ago at Westminster, taking in subsequent academic roles at Falmouth University, University for the Creative Arts and shorter stints at Kingston, Birkbeck and Regents Universities in London. Prior to (and indeed alongside) his academic career, Jon has worked as a public relations consultant for agencies, charities and statutory organisations on diverse briefs, from launching the world’s second-to-market medicine for erectile dysfunction, to persuading the general public of the health benefits of gardening. He has also written articles for the Guardian and a range of other consumer publications.
Jon is the author/editor of two books, Communicating Fashion Brands (Routledge, 2020) and Fashion Promotion in Practice (Bloomsbury, 2016) and has also published on the subject of infographics in public communication in the collected volume Visual Public Relations: Strategic Communication Beyond Text. His research interests range from fashion to consumption more broadly, within the context of public relations and marketing communications.
