New Book: Greece on Air
A new book by Amanda Wrigley, entitled Greece on Air: Engagements with Ancient Greece on BBC Radio, 1920s-1960s, has been released by Oxford University Press.
The book presents the first substantial discussion of the fascinating history of creative and public engagements with ancient Greek literature, history, and thought via BBC Radio. The text also explores previously uncharted ground in British cultural history and also brings other extremely important dimensions to current debates on the practice of classical reception studies, and draws on the vast amount of evidence that exists in the written archives both for production processes and also listeners’ responses.
The book is available for purchase now from Oxford University Press and other good book retailers.
