Following the settling of Heather Mills’ phone-hacking case against the News of the World for a “substantial” sum, Steven Barnett reflects on the apology from News Group Newspapers to her and her sister, and questions how many more settlements will be made in coming months and years. “There are” Barnett states, “very very large sums of money being paid out by News Group, they are absolutely desperate to make sure that these cases do not come to open court where there are executives who might be held to account”
