Anastasia Denisova discusses internet memes and the logic of late capitalism at King’s College London

On the 15th May 2020, Anastasia Denisova, joined 1,000 digital attendees to discuss internet memes and the logic of late capitalism at an event organised by King’s College London. In her talk, which can be viewed below, Denisova identified the four roles of memes: internet slang, political mindbombs, fast-food media and coping mechanism. Based on her book Internet Memes and Society, Denisova expanded her work to draw in an abundancy of corona-related memes, as well as updating some concepts for 2020.
