Winston Mano speaks to Democracy Paradox about African Politics and Social Media
Recent events in the United States have shown how even the most established democracies have much to learn about democracy. But Winston Mano does not like to talk about democracy. He prefers to talk about democratization because the process never ends. Mano’s conversation with Democracy Paradox focuses on Africa with many topics discussed including social media, decolonization, and, of course, democracy. It concludes with a complex question, “What can America learn about democracy from Africa?” Mano believes humility is critical in a successful democracy. Different parts of the globe have different lessons so there is always something to learn from others. So, can Africa leapfrog America at this crossroads of democratization?
