Peter Cunliffe-Jones speaks to SABC about tackling misinformation in the media space
This year’s World Press Freedom Day theme was “Information as a Public Good.” It recognised the globe’s fast-changing communications systems that impact democracies, human rights and even our health. Journalists play an essential role in ensuring that verified and reliable information is accessible and also by tackling misinformation, “fake news” and other harmful content. As part of this theme Founder of Africa-Check, CAMRI Visiting Researcher, and Co-Director of the Chevening Africa Media Freedom Fellowship, Peter Cunliffe-Jones spoke to SABC News about the importance of the media fraternity fighting against misinformation and disinformation.
