The Nargis Dutt Lecture to be delivered by A-list Indian director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
We are delighted to announce that this year’s Nargis Dutt lecture will be delivered by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated directors. Bhansali’s films have been huge box-office hits while at the same time challenging the established Bollywood formulas. Bhansali is especially noted for addressing the theme of disability. In his lecture he will talk about the challenges of incorporating disabled protagonists into Bollywood films.
The talk will be chaired by Rosie Thomas, Director of the Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media (CREAM) and Co-director of India Media Centre at the University of Westminster.
The talk will be preceded by a screening of Black (Sanjay Leela Bhansali, 2005).
