Prof. Lucy Brown, Head of Screen, has been elected to the Regional Council of the European Group of Film and Television Schools (GEECT), the European branch of CILECT, the global association of film, audiovisual and media schools.

In this role, Prof. Brown will contribute to policy development, collaboration, and the advancement of inclusive and sustainable approaches to screen education across Europe. Her election follows a year of service on CILECT’s Standing Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (SCEDI), where she was one of two European delegates supporting the network’s global strategy on inclusive practice.

Brown recently attended the CILECT Congress 2025 in Guadalajara, Mexico, which brought together representatives from more than 180 institutions worldwide. She presented the SCEDI Prize for Documentary Film and highlighted Westminster’s work in strengthening equity and inclusion in screen education. She was joined by Principal Lecturer Peter Hort, who delivered a workshop on fairness in film education.

Brown said she was honoured to represent Westminster and contribute to GEECT’s efforts to support collaboration and innovation across European screen-education communities.
