Award winning student research published in top music journal
Last year MA Music Business Management students visited the Vienna Music Business Research Day. Among those who took part in the trip was alumni Sam Edrisi who’s paper on the role of private members clubs in the music economy was the winner of the Young Scholars Workshop.
Following this success Edrisi worked with Sally Anne-Gross, course leader for MA Music Business management, to publish his research in the peer reviewed ‘International Journal of Music Business Research’.
The paper is entitled ‘Where the Magic People Gathered: The Role of Private Members Clubs in the Contemporary Music Economy’: https://musikwirtschaftsforschung.files.wordpress.com/2020/04/volume-9-no-1-april-2020-edrisi_end.pdf
Not only will Edrisi’s work now reach a global audience, but as part of the commitment of to embedding research in our teaching at the University of Westminster, the paper will also be added to reading lists on MA Music Business Management modules in future years, providing insights and inspiration to students. It also shows the amazing calibre of work our students are producing and the real impact the MA Music Business Management has, and the dedication of Sally in working so hard with the student for this achievement.
