Jean Seaton speaks to BBC Radio 4 about the Licence Fee

Jean Seaton, in her capacity of Official BBC Historian appeared on Radio4’s The World This Weekend to provide context and defence of the BBC Licence fee. In a discussion about the continuation of the licence fee presenter Mark Mardell spoke with those from all sides of the licence fee debate, including a member of the DefundtheBBC campaign. Seaton provided a historical context for the fee, before noting that the licence fee allows the BBC a degree of independence to hold the government to account.
