Manisha Ganguly wins Amnesty Media Award

Manisha Ganguly, along with her team at BBC Arabic has won the Amnesty Media Award 2020 in the Broadcast News Category- For ‘Idlib Double Tap’. The award was presented for their work in exposing how Russian planes were bombing civilian areas in Syria using the illegal “double tap technique”, an action that involves hitting an area with an airstrike, waiting for first responders to show up and hitting again to cause maximum impact and deaths.

Ganguly has also been shortlisted for Outstanding Young Journalist 2020  by the Asian Media Awards and Young Journalist Award 2020  by the Association of International Broadcasting.
