Following his article in The Conversation about the Harry and Meghan interview with Oprah, Prof. Steven Barnett spoke with the Washington Post about the complaints made against Piers Morgan, and his subsequent walkout from Good Morning Britain. Morgan who quit his job with the ITV breakfast show on 9th March, “acted as a lightning rod for those who don’t like Meghan” said Barnett. “He loves the role of hate figure,” Barnett continued, “let’s not forget he’s on a breakfast show that’s keen to attract more viewers and get more ratings.” Asked whether he thought Morgan’s storming-off was a spontaneous display of real outrage or just great theatre, Barnett said: “I don’t want to speculate.
