Alessandro D’Arma and Maria Michalis elected as co-Presidents of the International Association of Public Media Researchers (IAPMR)

Alessandro D’Arma and Maria Michalis have been elected as the new co-Presidents of the International Association of Public Media Researchers (IAPMR).

Building on the scholarly and networking activities of the 20 year-old RIPE Initiative (Re-invigorating the Public Interest in Media), IAPMR draws together 300+ academics and industry professionals worldwide specialising in public service media for the purposes of research and innovation.

Speaking about their new appointments D’Arma and Michalis said that “They are delighted to take on this role and look forward to developing the Association and its activities”. The pair join other members of the new leadership team, including Minna Horowitz (Vice-President), Michael-Bernard Zita (Treasurer), Marta Rodríguez-Castro (Secretary & Young Scholars) and Gregory Ferrell Lowe (RIPE Chairperson) acting in an advisory capacity.

IAPMR has partnerships with the Public Media Alliance (https://www.publicmediaalliance.org/), and the Centre for Media, Data and Society (CMDS) at the Central European University (https://cmds.ceu.edu/). The Association is supported by the European Broadcasting Union (https://www.ebu.ch/home).
