Maria Michalis delivers talk on media policy at University of Ljubljana

In January 2025, Prof. Maria Michalis visited the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Invited by Professor Marko Milosavljević, Head of the Department of Communication, she delivered a lecture on “Media Policy: What is it and why should we care?” She explained what media policy is and why it matters, and assessed whether the rise of online, platform-based, and transnational media has reshaped policy objectives and instruments. She also discussed the impact of competition policy on media markets, and the connections between AI ethics, regulation, and the media.
