This open event, chaired by journalist, broadcaster and consultant Phil Harding and hosted by the University of Westminster in association with The Children’s Media Foundation (CMF), and the Voice of the Listener and Viewer (VLV) will look at the implications of the government White Paper on the future of the BBC for the provision of children’s content in the UK for the next 11 years.

Professor Jeanette Steemers of the University of Westminster will present the results of her comparative research into content funds in other territories, followed by a panel discussion.  Panellists will include:

A representative from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) will also join the panel in fielding audience questions.

Come and have your say on the impact of plans for restructuring  BBC production and quotas, changes in governance and a new emphasis on “distinctiveness”, pressure on Licence Fee revenue and the new pilot contestable fund for public service content.
