Steven Barnett interviewed by ARD about the #DefundtheBBC campaign
Following an investigation into the origins of the #DefundTheBBC campaign undertaken by Prof. Steven Barnett and Doug Specht, and published in The Conversation last week, Barnett has spoken to Germany’s ARD about what they found.
In the interview Barnett pointed to the strong links between those calling for the defunding of the BBC and those who supported Brexit and the Leave.EU campaigns. He raises a number of concerns about the true motivations of the DefundTheBBC campaign, and what this might mean for democracy.
